Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are some of the frequently asked questions about the conference. If you still have questions, feel free to contact us at RISENLIFEORPHANCARE [AT] GMAIL.COM.

WHO CAN/SHOULD ATTEND?

Anyone and everyone who cares about vulnerable children – particularly foster and adopted kids and youth.  This includes (but is not limited to): Foster Parents, Adoptive Parents, Kinship Caregivers, Guardians, Social Workers, Child Welfare Professionals, CASA Employees and Volunteers, Therapists, Pastors, Church Ministry Leaders, Teachers, etc.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT THE CONFERENCE?

You will leave feeling encouraged and inspired by messages from Christian speakers and real stories from adoptive and fostering families. We also bring together amazing community partners like Utah Foster Care, Utah CASA, Royal Family Kids, and more, and you can explore the different opportunities to help. Even if you don't feel called to foster or adopt, everyone can play a role in helping vulnerable children. Start praying about how you can help!

IS THERE A REASON FOR MORE THAN ONE PERSON (FROM AN AGENCY/CHURCH/FAMILY) TO ATTEND?

Indeed there is!  Many agencies and families use conferences to begin shaping a plan and ideas for home or work. In addition, two or more attendees often leave the conference with a deepened relationship and vision for loving, serving, and caring for vulnerable children.

WHERE IS THE CONFERENCE?

The conference is hosted by our generous host church, Risen Life Church in Holladay, Utah. The address is 2780 East 3900 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84121.

WHAT IF I REGISTER AND THEN NEED TO CANCEL?

We’re sorry to hear you’re unable to join us this year! You can certainly transfer your registration to someone else. We hope that you understand that speaker fees, many materials, and food are ordered/paid prior to the conference, and for that reason, we do not offer refunds, at any time, for any reason.  Please contact RISENLIFEORPHANCARE [AT] GMAIL.COM to further inquire.

DO YOU OFFER FOSTER/ADOPTIVE PARENT TRAINING CREDITS?

Yes! The conference has been approved by Utah DCFS and we can offer foster and adoptive parents credits for their required annual training hours. Please request a certificate at the event on March 2.

DO YOU OFFER CEUS FOR PROFESSIONALS?

We are sorry that we are unable to offer official CEUs for professionals.

CAN I JOIN THE CONFERENCE VIRTUALLY?

This is an in-person event only.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE YOU TAKING REGARDING COVID-19 AT THIS EVENT?

The safety and health of everyone is a top priority.

We continue to closely monitor the status of COVID along with state and CDC guidelines. We are working with our host church to take all measures needed to minimize any risks.

While situations continue to evolve, we anticipate that on-site at the conference:

  • We will encourage all participants to understand and seriously consider all current CDC recommendations.

  • We will ask all participants to fully comply with local mandates.

In all of this, we encourage all participants to apply common sense measures: stay home if you don’t feel well, wash hands frequently, and consult with your health care provider with any questions.

Each of us today have unique situations and feelings about these matters. In our community, there is much grace and understanding for all. Each must proceed based on their own sense of wisdom and comfort levels. Our deepest desire is to see you thriving in body, mind and spirit, rooted deep in the love of God.
